Luftforsvaret og militær transformasjon. Dagens valg - morgendagens tvangstrøye? GILs Luftmaktseminar 2004
Abstract
The Royal Norwegian Air Force’s annual Air Power Symposium was arranged at the Royal Norwegian Air Force Academy in Trondheim from 3 through 5 February 2004. This years’ theme was ”The Air Force and Military Transformation. Today’s options – tomorrow’s strait jacket (?)”. The theme was approached mainly by Norwegian speakers, with the exception of Dr. David Gates, member of the RAF’s Air Power Workshop, who discussed “British Conceptual Air Power Thinking”. The main aim was to try to interpret the American term Transformation in a Norwegian context. A more direct approach to transforming the Norwegian military was tried on the last day, which was spent discussing the recommendations given by the Chief of Defence for the then forthcoming White Paper on the development of the Norwegian Armed Forces.
