The focus in the thesis is to analyze the organization of the material emergency preparedness concept for the new Nansen class frigates. Initially a theoretical framework in SCM has been established with respect to topics that are important or may have influence on a military logistics support concept. Based upon the theoretical framework, research questions and factors have been developed. Research questions and factors are developed within various topics of the supply chain theory, such as supply chain relationship, supply chain design, communication and risk management. Quality analysis methods are utilized, where theoretical knowledge of SCM has been found through literature research on the topic. Empirical data related to the topics, such as official emergency preparedness requirements, the vessels design requirements, and data related to the research questions on SCM, has been discovered through a literature research. The empirical data is then analyzed with respect to the SCM theoretical framework in the final part of the thesis. The thesis indicates that the supply chain design is comparable with the emergency preparedness requirement within the concept of a hybrid supply chain. The absence of control and monitoring of the supply chain during war or crises supports the concept.no_NO
