dc.description.abstractArmed forces – a continuation of distributive politics with other means? If politicians design policies to win election, they will allocate more public resources to politically attractive districts. Several studies have analysed the allocation of military expenditures in USA, but similar studies does not exist in Europe. This study analyzes the allocation of military expenditures in 19 election districts in Norway from 1986 to 2005. I find that districts represented on the defence committee and districts with legislative overrepresentation, receive higher levels of military expenditures than other districtsen_US
